Bio

Welcome! My name is Basie and I am a PhD student specializing in quantum information theory. I hold an honors bachelors in science (H.B.S) from Oregon State University in Physics and Mathematics. While at Oregon State I completed an undergraduate thesis on polymer quantum mechanics under the advisement of Dr. David Craig.

I am currently working towards my PhD at the University of New Mexico and am actively conducting research under Dr. Akimasa Miyake in quantum information theory funded by the NSF STAQ grant, working towards near term applications to quantum computation.

Outside of academics I love playing the cello, rock climbing, and going on adventures around the state of New Mexico and the Pacific Northwest.
